Last month we were contacted by the Open Invention Network (OIN), with an invitation for us to join their organization.
After several exchanges, DoudouLinux decided to join the OIN. This organization buys patents in order to make them available to FLOSS developers.
Many projects have joined OIN: Apache, Eclipse, Gentoo, Gimp, Gnome, Mozilla (Firefox, Thunderbird), MySQL, Python, Samba, etc., and now DoudouLinux!
To learn the reasons, in detail, why we decided to join the OIN, I invite you to read the excellent e-mail, in english, by Jean-Michel Philippe, founder of DoudouLinux, that was sent to all of the contributors on the doudoulinux-dev mailing list.
